True Blood - Eric's New Lover???

Australian actor to play one of the new characters introduced in the third season. Grant Bowler, the actor who has recurring roles in both "Lost" and "Ugly Betty" (Connor - Wilhemina's dead but soon to be seen alive lover and thief of all her money) , will be in the vampire drama series for a not-yet-known role.

He confirmed his participation to Australia's Sunday Telegraph, saying "Mate, it's HBO and it's the King. ...It's the chance to work for an Oscar-winner [series creator Alan Ball] and alongside an Oscar-winner [Anna Paquin]." No further statement was made.

"True Blood" will be back in June next year with the production kicked off around January. Some casting calls have been made for roles such as vampire Franklin Mott, Reverend Daniels, a ringleader of biker thugs named Cooter and an "intensely beautiful" vampire named Talbot. No actors have been attached to any of them.

Bowler is still committed to "Ugly Betty" playing Connor Owens who shakes Wilhelmina's world. Upon being cast on "True Blood", he would have to juggle between shooting the HBO series in Los Angeles and "Betty" in New York.

Adam Lambert vs Chris Brown

ABC is making headlines again:

So after deciding that Adam's performance was so unacceptable that they canceled his GMA appearance, ABC decided to book Chris Brown and help him make money. You know, because domestic violence is in and same sex kissing between men is so uncool. Seriously ABC? Really? So what you are saying is that if you beat up a woman and I mean really beat the ever living crap out of her its ok and ABC will open their arms to you and let you be interviewed by a woman and let you perform and say, please make a buck off our network. However, if you kiss another guy as part of an act you are banned for life. Just wanted to check. Note to Adam Lambert. Stop kissing guys and go beat some women. ABC and the entire Disney family will love you. Oh, and that includes ESPN. Does the person who made this decision at GMA still have a job?

thanks CDAN

GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE-UP!

AND HAVE A SEAT!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

HOW I'M FEELING ABOUT TOMORROW

I'm cooking the entire Thanksgiving meal tomorrow!!! It's for 15 people!!! I've cooked all the dishes before when assisting my Mom but never the entire meal. This year she'll be assisting me. I've already decided/started to cook the turkey today. I'll cook the two breasts and slice them and then warm them tomorrow. My mom's house smells so good! I'm following The Barefoot Contessa's recipe.

Have a wonderful, satisfying, safe and fun Thanksgiving!!

Godrick LIVES!

True Blood's Allan Hyde (Godrick) has fun with his iPhone and wolf t-shirts. He's adorkable but looks soooo young. I can't wait for True Blood to start again.

5 For and 5 Against: 2012

Overall, 2012 is much better then the trailer leads you (and my 12 year old nephew) to believe. The cast is likable with lots of cameos. Like he did in Zombieland, Woody Harrelson steals all his scenes. The car and plane scenes are fantastical but just within the realm of possibility and keep you on the edge of your seat plus the scenes are filmed so that you can see the details and really grasp what is being destroyed and the number of people being killed.

About halfway through the movie, little things started taking me out of the experience. I could believe the escape scenes but not a 20 year old DIAL tv with rabbit ears in the kitchen of the worlds newest and biggest cruise ship or that the same kitchen has a balcony! I have to admit, when the ending came, I was cheering for the end of mankind. I wanted to see all those arks go down and stay down.

5 FOR:
  1. Woody Harrelson as Charlie.
  2. Quick pace and lots of humor mixed in.
  3. Fairly strong plot with strong build up to the action.
  4. Hot Chinese brothers, very hot long lost son in Japan and hot Russian pilot (Will from Eastwick.)
  5. Several cover your eyes and/or jump in your seat scenes.
5 AGAINST:
  1. Danny Glover as President and Danny Glover with dust on his face.
  2. Black-smoke blowing smoke stacks on the arks - shouldn't they be nuclear powered?
  3. The last minute moral questioning of good guy scientist Adrian.
  4. Hydraulics for those huge doors would not get jammed by a tool.
  5. Russian pilot sounded, acted and was written exactly like the Russian in Armageddon.
Here's Adam Lambert singing Time For Miracles from 2012.

South Park - Dances With Smurfs

If you get the chance, you need to watch this week's episode of South Park "Dances with Smurfs" which airs again on Comedy Central tonight at 10:30p, Sun 11/15 at 11p and finally Mon 11/16 at 2a, all times est. or click here to watch it on line now.

South Park follows "The F Word" episode, which I thought was balanced but ultimately not the best argument for reclaiming or the ever changing meaning of hate words, with an clear and funny attack on Glen Beck, Faux News and their loyal followers.

South Park is usually very blunt in its parodies and criticisms and this one is no different but have an almost subtle beginning - or I was very tired.  Cartman is Beck - or is Beck a copy of Cartman? Carman has been around longer. Wendy is the President, of the student council. And that's about all you need to know. Oh, and there are smurfs.

South Park isn't the must see tv it was 15 years ago but every now and then they find some of their old magic.

RG calls him Spurty

This was too funny not to steal from RG over at Dulce Y Peligroso. Be sure to watch until the end for the big pay off.

A lost but not forgotten love

I was reminded of a lost love last night. His name was Cor, we met at a tennis tournament in DC - I won both the tournament and him. He was from Toronto, and was all my fantasy men wrapped together into one 5'7" package:
  • published poet,
  • an artist,
  • a painter,
  • tennis player,
  • put himself through college gogo dancing,
  • was in the military,
  • has an identical twin brother,
  • rides a motorcycle,
  • goatee-baseball caps-pierced ears (this was 1998),
  • almost made the Canadian Olympic Gymnastic Team
  • charming, sweet, devilish, thoughtful, sexy, funny, arrogant, confident, versatile,
  • loved me and made me feel great about myself
We only had a few months together but they were magical. One of the many things he introduced me to was Anggun - Snow on the Sahara. If I remember correctly, she recorded this CD in 7 languages.
