SIZING UP SPERM

Tonight at 9 pm est on the National Geographic Channel

I'm surprised that this is on the NatGeo channel and not Logo - sound like the perfect show for gay men. This could be very informative and very interesting or a complete waste of time.

Each of us was the grand prize in an ultimate reality competition, the amazing race a sperm makes on the road to fertilization. Millions of sperm compete while overcoming armies of antibodies, treacherous terrain and impossible odds to reach their single-minded goal.

The program follows the sperm's role in the miracle of life before it joins with an egg. The sperm is scaled to human size to better illustrate the challenges that await it. So on 'Sizing Up Sperm,' a London skyscraper represents male anatomy, the Rocky Mountains stand in for female anatomy, etc. It's kind of like a sex-ed version of 'Fantastic Voyage,' if you will.

"Each of us was the grand prize in an ultimate reality competition, the amazing race a sperm makes on the road to fertilization,'' reads the press release.

This is an attempt to sex up NGC, and if the program is done with smarts and skill, we feel why not? From a scientific pint of view, the subject is procreation is perfectly fine for study, snickers aside. Now, they have our attention. Let's see if they deliver a quality program.

  4. as fasinating as it may be, it grosses me out seeing the man jizz magnified full of squirmys. So I'll live in clouded denial that its just like a magical krispy kream filling instead. I'll just watch the people parts lol...

This looks much more interesting than the the gay version i seen....penis goes in, sperm comes out, they run down the street into an ally, dead end then they are shot out of an air cannon...over ;)

  5. I enjoyed the program---the idea of enlarging to human size is very interesting. It is medically sound!

  8. I feel bad for all the, um, sperm that I know didn't even get a chance at the grand prize.

Unless you count tonsils or a turd...
