WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU CALL MILK?

Courtesy of the News Team that brought you, "keep fucking that chicken." I did not see this cuming. (pun intended)

RAINY DAYS AND DOGGIES ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE

Miss Truvy is a high-maintenance dog. Not in a bad way but she does require your attention and on rainy days when she doesn't take her long walks, cause she doesn't like getting wet, she'll bring out every toy to play with. In fact, if you don't start playing with her, she gets another toy and starts piling them up at your feet. I took this photo after cleaning up her toys twice and you can't even see the others in the next room and on the furniture.
If I'm not playing, eating or being paid attention to, it must be nap time.

TRUE BLOOD QUOTE OF THE DAY

(pic via) I know it's a little bit early to be claiming that no one on the face of the planet will speak words all day that will top these, but... well nobody's gonna top these words all day. Via People, this is Alexander SkarsgÄrd talking about True Blood:
“I’m not a prude at all. I shot a very, very graphic scene two days ago with a man. I am from Sweden, and it’s different there. If it makes sense, I’ll just do it. And to me, so far, it’s made sense every single time I’ve got naked or made out on the show.”

Also, to tide us over between the end of season 2 repeats and the start of season 3, there will be several mini-sodes. Here's one, the rest can be found on the HBO True Blood website.

ADAM LAMBERT - VOODOO

This could be Adam's next single. It was released in Europe and is part of a new cd of remixes. This is not the official video but I love the song. Enjoy!

KATHY GRIFFIN: OFFICIAL BOOK CLUB SELECTION

I'm a little late getting around to reading Kathy's Official Book Club Selection but hey, I have a lot of blogs to read every day and I've just started Stephen King's Under the Dome and it's big one. (haha..big one)

I really enjoy Kathy's point of view in her humor and have been a fan at least since her Suddenly Susan days. Her love and support of the GLBT community is just a bonus. I thank Bravo for bringing us, in addition to Queer Eye, Top Chef, Project Runway and many others,  Kathy's Life on the D-List and her stand-up specials. This may sound a bit blonde of me, but somehow I missed her publicity tour when the book was released and didn't read any reviews so I was somewhat surprised that this is actually an autobiography.

If you like Kathy then you'll really enjoy this light but insightful telling of her life. She holds nothing back in revealing her body issues, being molested by her brother and her life as a slut. What I especially appreciate learning about Kathy is how driven she was to succeed, how hard she worked to get there and how loving and supportive her parents were of her dreams. Along the way are very candid tales of her associations with other celebrities like Lisa Kudrow, Janeane Garofalo, Margaret Cho, Brook Shields, Andy Dick and many more. One of the most enjoyable chapters is just a collection of email exchanges between her and Steve Wozniak. This is not a laugh out loud funny telling of her life but it is humorous and gets us closer to Kathy the person and not just the persona we see on stage and tv.

CYNDI'S NEW ALBUM COVER

Via Pop In Stereo: "Cyndi Lauper has revealed the artwork for her eleventh studio album Memphis Blues. The album will be release on CD and LP June 22, 2010 via Downtown Records."

I'm so excited but I don't understand releasing music on LP's. I know Kenneth in the (212) posted about a resurgence in LP releases but I don't get it. I'm also waiting for the new/proper way to refer to my latest music purchase. Saying, " I just go the new Cyndi download!" just feels awkward to say. Also, is it really Album Artwork (as iTunes lists it in it's Advanced tab) if there isn't actually an album? And who buys cd's any more?

HAPPY 40TH EARTH DAY!

And Mother Nature is showing us who's boss.  Earth Day turns 40 this year and this timeline will remind you of the incredible progress that has been made.  Since 1970, we've seen the Environmental Protection Agency, the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act, all signed into law by a Republican president.  Imagine such a thing today?

Do something green today and every day.

ADAM & ANDY by James Asal Jr.

I have been a longtime fan of Adam & Andy, ever since I moved to DC and started reading the Washington Blade. At first I thought it was kinda boring but since is was only a few panels and ran every two weeks, I kept reading. As I got to know the characters I began to recognize and appreciate the simple story of love, companionship and friendship. I think this recent storyline is a perfect example of the kind of relationship and life I hope to have again. Visit them here.

DID YOU WATCH?

There was a lot of talk about the casting of the new Dr, Matt Smith. I liked him enough and enjoyed the show but I did find the new writing and new directing jarring. I'll continue to watch and expect the show to find its grove. Next week's episode sounds promising.

Episode 2:
THE BEAST BELOW
The Doctor takes Amy to the distant future, where she finds Britain in space. Starship UK houses the future of the British people, as they search the stars for a new home. But as Amy explores, she encounters the terrifying Smilers and learns a deadly truth inside the Voting Booth.

Ziggy by Tom Wilson & Tom II

This is so close to the truth, it's not really funny.

Today: GLSEN's Day Of Silence

Today is GLSEN's national annual Day Of Silence in which students draw attention to anti-gay bullying by pledging to remain silent at school (except during class when required.) GLSEN is asking to students to Tweet The Silence to remind others. Anti-gay groups have called for Christian students to walk out of class today in an effort to punish participating schools financially.
"Every child that stays home on Friday in protest will take almost $100, in California at least, from the government school system in the form of ADA -- average daily attendance funds," (Save California's Randy Thomasson] explains. "We think that's appropriate punishment for a school district that allows homosexual indoctrination of children." He adds that it is the only type of lesson to be learned for public schools which value money much more than morality. Other groups calling for parents to keep their children at home as a protest of the Day of Silence include the American Family Association and the Illinois Family Institute.

MEET TRUE BLOOD'S NEW GAY COUPLE

Meet True Blood's new gay couple. Ace Showbiz reports:

"Denis O'Hare's Russell Edgington aka 'King of Mississippi' riding a horse is pictured separately from his gay lover, Theo Alexander's Talbot. King of Mississippi is to have a serious business with Queen Sophie-Ann. Meanwhile, Talbot has 'acerbic sense of humor and loves to cook despite vampires' inherent lack of cooking talents.'"

In related news (and not like we all didn't assume this already, but it's been confirmed), Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels on which True Blood is based, says she had the gay community in mind while writing them:

"Speaking to SFX, the author said that she used vampires as a metaphor for 'alienated minorities'. 'Vampires aren't just vampires,' she said. 'Y'know, a cigar isn't just a cigar, they're so useful as a metaphor for alienated minorities. In this case, I was thinking specifically of the gay community.'"

On that note, check out the latest piece of promo art for the series:

Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t like our Country very well…

Family Feud did a show where one of the clues was “Something everyone knows about Ellen DeGeneres” and it looks like one of the contestants has been hanging out with teabaggers too much… I guess between being gay, being a celebrity, being a woman, how could she not be trying to destroy America?! Here’s Ellen showing the clip and discussing it.

TOP CHEF MASTERS

Top Chef Masters makes it second season debut tonight at 11pm est. before moving to its regular 10pm time next Wednesday. I love Top Chef but Top Chef Masters is so much better. It's all for charity and the Masters really have a good time. It's all the competition of Top Chef but without all the attitude and it's so entertaining to see these master chefs do things in the kitchen that they have been delegating for years. If the format holds from last season, then each week we'll see a group of chefs compete with the winner moving on to the next round where they are narrowed down until the top three prepare the big meal for the $100,000 grand prize.
