BLOG CHALLENGE: A PIC A DAY IN MAY 5.12
![]() |
| Oscar's an older gentleman and is a Standard Dachshund. He couldn't sit on the seat but he loved the Jeep and was very sweet. |
Jim, of Jim's Stuff, heard about a blog challenge like this on other blogs and liked the idea. There may have been rules with a theme for each day or something else... but he thought he would just create his own. He asked other bloggers to join him. Every day in May we will take a picture from something happening in our lives, post the picture and maybe a comment about it.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
About this time today, I'll have my 400,000th hit! Thank you.
When I started this blog,(just over three years ago) it was really to just track the blogs I enjoyed reading. Then I got tired of seeing the blank page and started tinkering and thus Just A Jeep Guy was created.
In addition to all the hits, Just A Jeep Guy has numerous followers and has just surpassed 1,000 posts! I have made several friends whose path I may have never crossed from all over the US and all over the world. I have even met one fellow blogger.
I promise to continue to do my best to entertain and inform. So many of you are such talented writers and so many of you bring vast and varying knowledge and experience - I'm constantly learning and "evolving."
Most of all, your kind words and positive energy has been so comforting and helpful during some very hard times. Thank you.

CHILDHOOD CRUSH: ONE DAY AT A TIME
While most fans of One Day at a Time were getting their laughs from the trials and tribulations of Ann, Julie, Barbara and Schneider, I was more fixated on Barbara's BFF Bob and later her husband Mark and Julie's Husbear Max.
John Putch
Bob Morton
The son of Jean Stapleton, a.k.a. 'All in the Family's' Edith Bunker, Putch played Barbara's BFF Bob. Post-'One Day,' he guest starred on 'Family Ties,' 'Hill Street Blues,' 'Newhart,' 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and 'Seinfeld,' and, like Michael Lembeck, Putch has also focused on directing, helming episodes of 'My Name Is Earl,' 'Scrubs,' 'Ugly Betty' and ABC's new hit 'Cougar Town.' I'll always remember his speedo clad beach romp in Jaws 3D.
Boyd Gaines
Mark Royer
Dental student Mark became Barbara's husband on 'Day,' and in real-life, Gaines became one of the most successful actors on Broadway. He's one of only two actors to ever be nominated for a Tony in every category a male actor can be nominated in, and, since 1989, he's won four Tonys, including a 2008 statue for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for 'Gypsy.' I couldn't find any images of him from ODAAT but hasn't he aged nicely?
Michael Lembeck
Max Horvath
Lembeck, who had starred on 'Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman' and as Kaptain Kool on 'The Krofft Supershow,' turned to directing after 'One Day at a Time' ended. He directed more than a dozen episodes of 'Friends,' and won an Emmy for 'The One After the Super Bowl.' He's also directed episodes of 'Mad About You,' 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' 'Greek' and 'Californication,' the big-screen flicks 'The Santa Clause 2' and 'The Santa Clause 3,' and the new Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie 'Tooth Fairy.'
